For programs or projects designed to achieve specific, measurable outcomes, particularly those that advance the mission of the applicant (see guidelines for each Special Initiative under Funding Interests)
For larger grant amounts
Considered in June and November
Represent ~15 percent of all grants made any one year and are project-oriented, i.e., not intended to provide on-going support
Applicants who are unsure whether to apply for a Special Initiative or General Grant should:
Review the Special Initiative guidelines carefully
Inquire about a General grant if the proposed project does not fit within the program guidelines

New Applicants
Applicants who have never received funding from the Foundation:
Should submit (preferably via email) a concise letter of inquiry - one page maximum. Include a surface mailing address. Unsolicited proposals are not encouraged.
Should send the inquiry to the Foundation's Executive Director at info@rahuntfdn.org.
If invited to submit a proposal, must follow the Guidelines for Invited Proposals (link upper left sidebar) and email or mail the proposal to:

Previously Funded Organizations
Organizations that previously have received General Grants:
Considered only in November
Do not require a preliminary letter of inquiry
Do not require a full proposal
Should send in:
A completed application form (link upper left)
A simple letter request
Most recent audited financial statements
Two copies—one sent directly to the Trustee who has invited your application and presents your case for support to the Board, the other cc'd to the Foundation office
The complete fund-raising strategy and results to date toward the dollar goal if the request is for a capital campaign
Organizations that previously have received Special Initiative Grants:
Should send a letter of inquiry to the Foundation's Executive Director. A full proposal, if invited, is required.
