For 66 years this multi-purpose agency has been assisting the poor and working poor in the largely rural Washington County by providing the basics--food, shelter, clothing, medical assistance, addiction rehabilitation and more. A snap-shot survey of its program recipients in 2007 revealed that between 50 and 70 percent had a dual diagnosis including mental illness. Therefore, a grant toward the support of a statistician/grant writer position will support improved measurement of program outcomes, the capacity to find additional funding, and help determine the course of action and direction in which the Mission must proceed in order to better serve the disadvantaged. www.citymission.org
