With a board of directors comprised largely of youth, Youth in Action supports the transformation of ordinary youth into extraordinary community leaders through a training program that puts the youth in charge of running their own community programs — in HIV/pregnancy prevention, street outreach, violence prevention, and arts activities. Through their leadership experiences, the young participants learn the skills, resiliency, and determination needed to become successful adults and perhaps life-long activists who can make major impacts on their communities.
